Privacy Policy

M Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) regarding the handling of personal information of users in connection with the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as “the Services”).

Article 1 (Personal Information)

“Personal information” refers to “personal information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan, and means information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual, including but not limited to name, date of birth, address, telephone number, and other contact details.

It also includes information that can identify a specific individual by itself, such as facial images, fingerprints, voiceprints, and health insurance numbers (personally identifiable information).

Article 2 (Method of Collecting Personal Information)

We may ask users to provide personal information such as their name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver’s license number when they register to use our services.

 

In addition, we may collect transaction records and payment-related information, including personal information, between users and our business partners (including information providers, advertisers, and ad distribution partners; hereinafter referred to as “Partners”).

Article 3 (Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information)

The purposes for which we collect and use personal information are as follows:

  1. To provide and operate our services

  2. To respond to user inquiries (including identity verification)

  3. To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Company

  4. To contact users as necessary for maintenance, important notices, and other relevant information

  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Use or attempt to use the services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use

  6. To allow users to view, edit, delete, and confirm their registration and usage information

  7. To bill users for paid services

  8. To use for purposes incidental to the above

Article 4 (Changes to the Purpose of Use)

  1. We may change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably deemed that the new purpose is related to the original purpose.

  2. If the purpose of use is changed, we will notify users of the new purpose using a method prescribed by the Company, or announce it on this website.

Article 5 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

We will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases or where permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations:

  1. When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual

  2. When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual

  3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or local government agency, or an entity entrusted by such agency, in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the individual’s consent may interfere with the execution of such affairs

  4. When the following items have been notified or publicly announced in advance, and the Company has submitted a report to the Personal Information Protection Commission:

  • That the purpose of use includes provision to third parties

  • The categories of data to be provided

  • The means or method of provision to third parties

  • That provision of personal information to third parties will be stopped upon the individual’s request

  • The method for receiving such requests from the individual

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not be regarded as provision to third parties:

  1. When the Company entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use

  2. When personal information is provided as a result of business succession due to a merger or other reasons

  3. When personal information is jointly used with a specific party, and the Company has notified the individual in advance or has made it easily accessible to the individual, including:

  • The fact that joint use will occur

  • The categories of personal information to be jointly used

  • The scope of joint users

  • The purpose of use by the joint users

  • The name or title of the person responsible for managing the personal information

Article 6 (Disclosure of Personal Information)

When an individual requests the disclosure of their personal information, the Company will disclose such information to the individual without delay. However, all or part of the information may not be disclosed if any of the following applies, and in such cases, the Company will notify the individual of the decision without delay.

A fee of ¥1,000 per request will be charged for disclosure.

  • If there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party

  • If there is a risk of significant interference with the proper execution of the Company’s business

  • If it would violate any other laws or regulations

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Company will, in principle, not disclose information other than personal information, such as access logs or characteristic data.

Article 7 (Correction and Deletion of Personal Information)

  1. If a user believes that their personal information held by the Company is incorrect, the user may request correction, addition, or deletion of such information (hereinafter referred to as “Correction, etc.”) in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company.

  2. If the Company determines that it is necessary to respond to such a request, it will carry out the Correction, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.

  3. If the Company makes a Correction, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or decides not to make such a correction, it will notify the user of its decision without delay.

Article 8 (Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information)

  1. If the Company receives a request from an individual to suspend the use or delete their personal information (hereinafter referred to as “Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that it is being used beyond the scope of the stated purpose of use, or that it was obtained by improper means, the Company will promptly conduct the necessary investigation.

  2. Based on the results of the investigation, if the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, it will carry out the Suspension of Use, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.

  3. If the Company implements the Suspension of Use, etc. based on the preceding paragraph, or decides not to do so, it will notify the user of its decision without delay.

  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if the Suspension of Use, etc. requires a significant cost or is otherwise difficult to implement, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the user, the Company will take such alternative measures.

Article 9 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

  1. The contents of this Policy may be changed without prior notice to users, except as otherwise provided by law or in this Policy.

  2. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall become effective when it is posted on this website.
